The Pacific Legal Tape Restoration department was developed in 2005 to provide backup tape restoration services for our clients. Since then our capacity has surged and the service has taken on a life of its own. Now, under the name of discover-e, we host a leading-edge data center with virtually unlimited storage and processing capacity.
The discover-e Tape Restoration department has the ability to quickly restore data from backup tapes of diverse formats, written with different software packages, into one centralized data repository for immediate download to discover-e 6.0. A web interface, currently in development, allows clients to easily select and review individual files for restoration. This provides a data tracking interface to trace the data throughout the restoration process, noting location, and file-restoration status.
